| Growing up, my family always had at least one dog, but cats were usually an afterthought. Occasionally, they would wander into our backyard and we would feed, sometimes adopt them. But, these were primarily outdoor animals, their raison d'être was to eat, sleep, then go outside and kill something. So, I’m not exactly a cat aficionado when Ernie comes to live with me.
In my late twenties I was living eleven floors up in a penthouse apartment in Marina Del Rey, LA’s private yacht harbor. However, just because it’s Marina Del Rey doesn’t mean the pigeons are any cleaner, quieter, nor do they shit less. Ernie is my simple solution to getting these avian assholes off my balcony. And, because Ernie will not be going outside unless he learns to sky dive, we do develop a relationship. Ernie sheds his orange, Persian fur everywhere, is very mellow and cuddly, however, I would never submit him as a contestant for the quiz show, Are You Smarter Than a Pigeon? I even think I hear the pigeons snickering behind my back. So, yes, I still have the pigeons and now a useless, but lovable cat.

| I am enjoying this website! Became a member, uploaded some photos...but can't find the 'fine print' that explains why, after uploading my photos, they aren't there? Typical 'newbie', can't figure it out, although I am sure an explationation is staring back at me from my monitor.... |
